With unparalleled strengths across diverse disciplines, Roche is uniquely positioned to lead in transforming science to medicines for patients with disorders of the Cardiovascular & Metabolism system.Role MissionWe are seeking a creative, experienced, enthusiastic Medical Director for our Cardiovascular & Metabolism Therapeutic Area within the Early Development department. As a Medical Director in the Metabolism Early Development, you will be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of clinical Metabolism projects as well as ensuring the long term outlook of the clinical portfolio. You will ensure coordination of both internal and external efforts across the Metabolism disease area.Your ImpactBuild and implement the clinical development strategy at the clinical level, working closely with counterparts in pRED functions and Late Stage product development and commercializationEnsure that the overall clinical vision and strategy for specific Metabolism projects is implementedDevelop and communicate clinical strategic options that consider speed, technical, regulatory, business and operational needsServe as a central Medical Director for Metabolism clinical projects (Phase 0 through end-of-Phase 2) and cross-functional stakeholders within the matrixed early development communityProvide clinical development strategies for Metabolism Discovery teams (Pre-Phase 0) with respect to strategic fit and clinical developability of individual projectsServe on Project Teams and on Clinical Expert Teams in central roles such as Medical Director or Project Team LeaderBuild and support business development strategy and opportunities with clinical assessments and clinical development plansRepresents the Metabolism Early Development team both internally and externally at conferences and international meetingsWho You AreYou’re someone who wants to influence your own development. In addition you will bring:MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) in with deep expertise in appropriate disease area (metabolism, diabetes, endocrinology, obesity)Significant experience in pharmaceutical or drug development strongly desired; demonstrated track record of translational clinical development (e.g., early clinical trial management, IND filing, experience in proof-of-mechanism or proof-of-concept determination of investigational agents)Collaborative leadership. The role requires a leader who inspires diverse individuals to work together, persuades others to pursue innovative ideas and can work with a large number of partners across the organizationStrategic leadership. The candidate will articulate strategic clinical frameworks to inform operational delivery of the project(s).
