Reports To: Associate Director, SIOP Advanced Analytics Leader
Function: Global Operations – SIOP Advanced AnalyticsRole PurposeThe SIOP AI Lead is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML forecasting models that power Carrier’s global SIOP process. This role ensures that advanced forecasting capabilities are embedded into decision-making, enabling the organization to balance demand, supply, EBIT, and cash trade-offs effectively.The SIOP AI Lead will partner with data scientists, IT/digital teams, and regional SIOP leaders to deliver scalable, explainable, and high-performing AI solutions that improve forecast accuracy, responsiveness, and scenario planning.Key ResponsibilitiesAI Forecasting Model Development
- Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of AI/ML forecasting models for demand planning across all business units.
- Implement demand sensing algorithms leveraging short-term signals (POS data, macro indicators, channel trends) to improve responsiveness.
- Embed AI-driven forecasts into S&OP and S&OE processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Partner with the Decision Support & Training Lead to incorporate AI insights into scenario planning and trade-off analysis.
- Work closely with IT/Digital teams to ensure seamless integration of AI models into enterprise planning platforms (SAP IBP, o9, Kinaxis).
- Collaborate with regional SIOP teams to validate models and ensure adoption across geographies.
- Stay current on AI/ML advancements in forecasting and supply chain analytics; introduce new techniques to improve accuracy and agility.
- Develop best practices and playbooks for AI model deployment and maintenance
- Education: Master’s in Data Science, AI/ML, Statistics, or related field; PhD preferred.
- Experience: 8–10+ years in AI/ML model development, with at least 3+ years in supply chain or demand forecasting applications.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Python/R, ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Experience with time-series forecasting, demand sensing, and predictive analytics.
- Familiarity with planning platforms (SAP IBP, o9, Kinaxis) and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead technical teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Communication: Strong ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Language: Fluent English required; additional languages a plus.
