Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Engineer to join a dynamic team for one of our clients based in Basel. The ideal candidate will have extensive procurement expertise, particularly in onshore, offshore, and upstream environments. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor management, and cost control for complex chemical, petrochemical and oil and gas projects.
Key Responsibilities:
? Lead the end-to-end procurement process for capital equipment, materials, and services related to onshore, offshore, and upstream projects.
? Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, Commercial bid evaluations, and purchase orders incompliance with project timelines and budget.
? Follow and implement procurement strategies aligned with project and company objectives.
? Coordinate with project teams, engineering, planning, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
? Evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors based on technical, commercial, and delivery performance.
? Negotiate contracts and frame agreements with key vendors and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
? Ensure adherence to local and international procurement regulations, industry standards,and company policies.
? Manage expediting activities, monitor supplier performance, and resolve delivery or quality issues.
? Maintain procurement documentation and support audits or internal reviews.
? Stay updated on market trends, cost fluctuations, and supply chain risks relevant to oil and gas materials and services.Qualifications & Experience:
? Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent. Master's degree is a plus.
? 10 years of procurement experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus on chemical,
petrochemical, onshore, offshore projects.
? Proven experience in international procurement, vendor development, and contract
management.
? Familiar with industry standards and oil & gas supply chain dynamics.
? Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
? Excellent working knowledge of Excel
? Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
? Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
? Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and manage multiple priorities.Preferred Certifications:
? CIPS, PMP, or SCM-related certifications would be an added advantage.For this role, it is important to the client that the candidate is based in the Basel area or willing to relocate, with a maximum commuting time of one hour.
