- Acquire a deep understanding of the scope of the project and of CERN's electrical network
- Contribute to the survey of new technologies that could be deployed in the network
- Perform studies and simulations (EMT and RMS ) integrating the new technologies, to have an evaluation of the benefits
- Participate in site surveys
- Contribute to the studies, the technical coordination and the onsite activities for the installation of more than 20 Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) in CERN's network
- Perform analysis on the data available from the PMUs, building reports and dashboards on the Power Quality of the network
- Ensure the delivery of all the relevant information to KIT for the development of the digital twin of the network
- Follow up the activity of KIT on the digital twin to ensure a prompt alignment of needs and objectives
- Contribute to the tests and simulations that will happen on the digital twin at the latest stages of the project
- Prepare technical specifications to describe the requirements of the project
- Prepare reports to describe the status of the activities and the obtained results
- Ensure the archiving and follow up of the documentation
- Contribute to the follow up of the project (planning and milestones, budget)
- Participate to project and coordination meetings
- A previous professional experience in the domain of the network studies (optimal sensor placement, distribution grid state estimation, power flow analysis) is considered an asset.
- Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.
- Work in Radiation Areas.
- Interventions in underground installations.
- A valid driving licence.
- A monthly stipend ranging between 6194 and 6808 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).
- Coverage by CERN's comprehensive health scheme (for yourself, your spouse and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund.
- Depending on your individual circumstances: installation grant; family, child and infant allowances; payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of contract.
- 30 days of paid leave per year.
- On-the-job and formal training at CERN as well as in-house language courses for English and/or French.
- You are a national of a
- a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
