English VersionWe are looking for a Software Systems Architect to join our Technology and Engineering Team in Wärtsilä Switzerland located in Frauenfeld, Switzerland.Your role and responsibilitiesAs Software Systems Architect your role will focus on, but is not limited to these responsibilities:
  • Support customer agreements providing necessary information to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain relationships with cooperation partners.
  • Perform product improvements for non-portfolio products.
  • Visit sites when deeper product, system and/or performance analysis is needed.
  • Review of findings within the expert's poll.
  • Prepare instructions and / or carry out necessary measurements and analysis on engines in operation as well as on shop test or sea trial.
  • Implemented different sensor integrations, designed control systems, and worked on product development using NI LabVIEW and NI hardware.
  • Model based design for Marine Diesel and Gas Engine Control Applications.
  • Requirement elicitation from customer concept documents, drawings, etc.
  • Worked on model-based development of fuel injection applications and testing.
  • Functionality development for LNG Injection with multiple concepts of Gasification.
The below will enable you to shine in your role:
  • BSc or higher degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of the functionalities of two-stroke Wartsila engines for marine applications
  • Knowledge related to the implementation of systems to regulate engine speed for two-stroke marine applications
  • Knowledge related to the implementation and architecture of alternative fuel control systems for marine engines.
  • Proven expertise in Model-in-Loop (MIL) simulation and Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) simulation (please expressly mention your knowledge level of these tools in your application).
  • Proficiency in creating Unitool packages and application interface protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of Simulink, LabVIEW and MATLAB (specify your knowledge level in your application).
  • Excellent technical communication skills (e.g. writing reports).
  • Strong self-organization abilities for managing both internal and external activities.
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad for short periods (please specify it in your CV).
  • At least 5 years of proven experience working in a similar role and environment.
  • Proficient English language knowledge (both verbal and written communication are mandatory in Wärtsilä).

  • Unterstützung von Kundenvereinbarungen durch Bereitstellung relevanter Informationen für interne und externe Kunden.
  • Pflege von Beziehungen zu Kooperationspartnern.
  • Durchführung von Produktverbesserungen für Produkte ausserhalb des Portfolios.
  • Besuche vor Ort, wenn tiefere Produkt-, System- oder Leistungsanalysen erforderlich sind.
  • Überprüfung von Erkenntnissen im Expertenkreis.
  • Vorbereitung von Anleitungen und/oder Durchführung notwendiger Messungen und Analysen an laufenden Motoren sowie bei Werkstests oder Probefahrten.
  • Integration verschiedener Sensoren, Entwicklung von Steuerungssystemen und Produktentwicklung mit NI LabVIEW und NI-Hardware.
  • Modellbasierte Entwicklung für Steuerungsanwendungen von Schiffsdiesel- und Gasmotoren.
  • Anforderungserhebung aus Kundenkonzepten, Zeichnungen usw.
  • Modellbasierte Entwicklung von Kraftstoffeinspritzanwendungen und deren Tests.
  • Funktionsentwicklung für LNG-Einspritzung mit verschiedenen Vergasungskonzepten.
Folgende Qualifikationen bringen Sie idealerweise mit:
  • Bachelor- oder höherer Abschluss in Elektrotechnik oder Schiffstechnik.
  • Gute Kenntnisse über die Funktionalitäten von Zweitakt-Wärtsilä-Motoren für maritime Anwendungen
  • Kenntnisse zur Implementierung von Systemen zur Drehzahlregelung bei Zweitakt-Schiffsmotoren
  • Kenntnisse zur Architektur und Implementierung von Steuerungssystemen für alternative Kraftstoffe bei Schiffsmotoren.
  • Nachgewiesene Erfahrung mit Model-in-Loop (MIL) und Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) Simulationen (bitte geben Sie Ihr Kenntnisniveau in Ihrer Bewerbung an).
  • Erfahrung in der Erstellung von Unitool-Paketen und Schnittstellenprotokollen.
  • Fundierte Kenntnisse in Simulink, LabVIEW und MATLAB (bitte ebenfalls das Kenntnisniveau angeben).
  • Ausgezeichnete technische Kommunikationsfähigkeiten (z. B. beim Verfassen von Berichten).
  • Gute Selbstorganisation zur Koordination interner und externer Aktivitäten.
  • Reisebereitschaft für kurze Auslandseinsätze (bitte im Lebenslauf angeben).
  • Mindestens 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung in einer vergleichbaren Rolle und Umgebung.
  • Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift (Pflicht bei Wärtsilä).
