About the CompanyOur client is a leading, multidisciplinary engineering company with over 40 years of experience in the planning and implementation of infrastructure facilities across the energy, environment and transport sectors in Switzerland.Location: BernYour RoleOur client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Head of Pipeline Construction to join their team in Bern, Switzerland. This is a pivotal leadership position where the successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic management and continuous development of the "Line Construction" department.As a department head and member of the management team, the Head of Pipeline Construction will lead a team of approximately six specialists. Key responsibilities include:
  • Successful processing and management of diverse development and supply projects, focusing on the renewal and expansion of gas and water supply systems, electrical distribution networks, and district heating lines, particularly within the Bern area.
  • Maintaining high quality standards across all projects and competently managing the existing network infrastructure.
  • Actively acquiring new projects to ensure the department's growth and success.
  • Fostering the development and advancement of the team, ensuring continuous professional growth for all specialists.
  • Promoting internal, interdisciplinary exchange and providing expert specialist support to team members.
Your ProfileThe ideal candidate for this leadership role will possess:
  • A university degree (ETH/FH) in Civil Engineering.
  • Substantial professional experience in general civil engineering of infrastructure buildings and a proven track record in project management.
  • Networked thinking capabilities, alongside strong structured and organizational skills.
  • A convincing appearance and a genuine enjoyment of communication with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and enjoyment in leadership roles.
  • Fluent German language skills are a mandatory requirement for this position.
