At Cilag AG, part of Johnson & Johnson’s Innovative Medicine division, we produce pharmaceutical products, medical devices, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for global markets.We are seeking a passionate Senior Supervisor to lead the Lab Automation Team within the QC department Lab Services. As Senior Supervisor Lab Automation, you will lead a specialist team dedicated to maintaining and developing the digital landscape for our Quality Control analytical labs. Your focus will be on the administration and upkeep of Empower-connected lab equipment (including Empower master projects), establishing and maintaining robust LIMS interfaces for analytical devices (including master data and parser maintenance), and driving the automation of analytical lab workflows. You will play a key role during system audits and inspections. Join our Site Quality Control team in Schaffhausen and make a difference in patients' lives globally.Key Responsibilities:Lead the Lab Automation Team (both technically and disciplinarily)Recruit, train, and develop Lab Automation staffEnsure compliance with GMP, EHS, and SOX requirements and guidelines associated with the respective functionOversee the maintenance and qualification of Empower-connected analytical equipment, including management of Empower master projectsCoordinate and ensure effective establishment, validation, and ongoing maintenance of LIMS interfaces for analytical equipmentIdentify opportunities for and implement the automation and digitalization of analytical lab processes and workflowsCollaborate with IT, laboratory users, and QC to align system requirements and support seamless tech integrationRepresent Lab Automation topics at audits and regulatory/customer inspectionsDevelop SOPs, user guides, and working instructions relevant to lab automation and digital interfacesInvestigate issues and manage related NC/CAPAQualificationsYou have strong leadership skills, enjoy working in a team, and possess pronounced team and communication skills. You approach challenges in a solution-oriented and systematic way, can solve complex and multifaceted tasks, and set the right priorities. In addition to your assertiveness, you are willing to take responsibility and enjoy making a difference and driving projects forward.Furthermore, you bring the following qualifications:Education:Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
(Alternatively: Bachelor’s degree with several years of relevant experience in a GMP setting)Required Experience and Skills:Proven People LeadershipSeveral years’ experience working with laboratory automation (ideally with Empower, LIMS interfaces, and analytical devices) in a GMP-regulated environmentSeveral years’ experience working with laboratory automation (ideally with Empower, LIMS interfaces, and analytical devices) in a GMP-regulated environment.Experience with Quality Risk Management (ICH Q9), including data and process mappingExperience in project managementExperience in handling deviations, creating impact assessments, and implementing CAPA measuresVery good general IT knowledge, as well as confident use of MS OfficeExcellent organizational and communication skills, goal-oriented way of working, and “can-do” mentalityPreferred Skills:Initial leadership experience is an advantageIn-depth expertise with Empower software (system administration, master projects, user/environment management)Hands-on experience with LIMS interface development and maintenance, including handling master data and parser functionalitiesOther:Fluent English language skills, both written and spokenIntermediate German skills
