Job DescriptionPermanent Mission of GermanyDescriptionPermanent Mission of Germany is looking at earliest possible date for a full-time press officer to enhance press an public relations for the Permanent Representation and its social media presence.His or her tasks mainly include the following key responsibilities :
  • press and public relations for the Permanent Representation
  • co-supervision, design and continued development of the Permanent Representation's as well
as the German UN's social media presence * organisation and implementation of high-profile events (including expert events, paneldiscussions, exhibitions, podcasts), press meetings and other projects * supervision of the Permanent mission's website (technically and content-related)
  • researching, writing and editing target-group oriented texts (including speeches, press releases,
press background briefings) * design of image materials and videos, including photographic support of events
  • evaluation and analysis
  • ability to work in a team and high media affinity
Applicants should meet the following requirement profile:
  • academic degree
  • very good knowledge and practical experience in using social media, in
particular X/Twitter and LinkedIn * 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in press and public relations,communications, journalism * very good general education, interest in politics (multilateral relations, UnitedNations) * editing skills
  • good IT-knowledge (experience with video and audio editing programs an
advantage) * profound language skills in spoken and written German (native speaker) andEnglish (GER C2) * knowledge of the French language is an advantage (GER B1/B2)
  • strong communicative and creative teamwork skills
  • physical/mental resilience
The employment contract is governed by local law and is concluded in accordance with the model employment contract of the German representation in Geneva.
The gross remuneration is based on the remuneration scheme for local employees of the German representation in Geneva. The starting salary is currently CHF 8,882 gross per month (full-time).
