Calculate and review laytime for dry bulk shipments in line with charter party termsHandle demurrage and despatch claims, ensuring timely and accurate settlementAnalyze Statement of Facts , Notice of Readiness, port logs and cargo documentsLiaise with shipowners, charterers, surveyors and port agents to resolve discrepanciesManage and track claims files and disputes until resolutionWork closely with the trading desks and legal team to mitigate commercial risksMonitor contractual deadlines and ensure compliance with industry best practicesContribute to the continuous improvement of internal processesFor a major trading companyBe responsible for optimizing costs and managing contractual risk related to shiMinimum 5 /7 years of experience in a similar role within commodities trading, shipping, or charteringStrong understanding of dry bulk operations and demurrage processesProven ability to read and interpret charter parties, shipping contracts and laytime clausesHands-on experience with laytime calculation tools and ExcelExcellent communication and negotiation skills in EnglishRigorous, analytical, and solutions-orientedAbility to work independently and meet strict deadlinesKnowledge of sugar or agri-bulk commodities is a strong plusFamiliarity with shipping practicesWe are currently looking for an experienced Demurrage & Laytime Specialist to join a leading trading company in Geneva for a 6-month temporary assignment.
