The Freienbach research center is equipped with R&D, technical service and analytical laboratories, application and scale-up facilities to cover all development activities from prepolymer design, synthesis and characterization, adhesive mixing, scale-up, performance testing and full industrial scale adhesive application. This, to support and drive the e-mobility and sustainability transformation in the global automotive and transportation industry via the development and commercialization of adhesives and process materials.Main responsibilities Development of semi – structural and structural body shop adhesives and e-motor impregnation resins and potting materials for the automotive industry and particularly the e-mobility sector. Support of manufacturing and support during the commercial launch of the technologies according to DuPont product commercialization processes.Knowledge, expertise and capabilities
education as laboratory technician or B. Sc is a minimum requirement, ideally in Chemistry or a related technical field
experience and knowledge in polyurethane-based and epoxy resin based adhesive technologies are advantegeous
experience in the automotive industry is advantageous
experience in project managment tools and processes are advantegeous
self-driven, motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of collaboration for superior results with internal and external stakeholders
fluent in German and English
good knowledge of Microsoft Office as key requirement for project documentation
Accountability & impact
independent design of adhesive recipes under minor supervision of the project leader
preparation (mixing) of adhesives recipes according to available process standards, including support of scale-up activities
fully independent testing and perfomance characterization of the adhesives according to automotive customer specifications
fully independent documentation of the recipes and the results based on available templates
preparation of customer presentations in collaboration with the project leader
contribution to intellectual property documentation
mainly independent summary and evaluation of the project results in laboratory reports and internal scientific publications in collaboration with the project leader
perform all practical work in full agreement with the DuPont EH&S (environment, health & safety) standards
proactive contribution to continuous improvement of safety standards
contribution to project stage gate meetings in agreement with DuPont product commercialization processes
Decision making & problem solving
pro-active and indepenent elaboration of technology improvements based on the evaluation of adhesives prototypes against customer specifications and project requirements
set-up of product specification limits and provide advice for manufacturing process standards in agreement with DuPont product commercialization processes
direct customer contact and communication in order to enhance effectiveness of innovative product development for key customers in close collaboration with the account manager
